  1. Information that we collect
    1. To register with us as a professional, you will need to provide us with some personal information. This includes a first name, a surname, a mobile phone number, and a valid email address. You will also be asked to choose a password. This password should not be shared with anyone else.
    2. Once you have registered with us as a professional, we will ask for further information in order to create your business profile (what customers/the general public will be able to see). This information includes your business type (profession), your business name and location, and how far (if applicable) you are willing to travel to provide your services. Please note Just Starting Out ltd only serves professionals and customers within the United Kingdom.
    3. Lastly, when creating your business profile, and in order for us to facilitate connections with potential customers, we will ask for information concerning your qualifications (if any), your business insurance, and provide the opportunity for you to write a "business description". You will also have the opportunity to upload any photographs of your work, your qualifications, your business insurance certificate, or any other documents that you feel would be beneficial to showcase to potential customers.
    4. Service users should inform us of any changes or requests regarding their personal data. We will respond to such requests within a reasonable timeframe. Under applicable data protection law, we may update or delete your information accordingly, dependent on your request.

  2. Ways that we use information supplied by you

Please note that this will not be via any email addresses or phone numbers that you have listed within your business profile.
    2. We will use any suggestions, comments and reviews on any websites and social media platforms to improve the service that we offer.

    4. We may work with third-party service providers for targeted marketing purposes.
    5. We use data analytics in order to analyse how our site is used by our service users, and ways in which our services can be improved.

  3. What the general public will be able to view
    1. In order to advertise your business, we display relevant information for the general public to see. This information is entered/uploaded by you, and Just Starting Out ltd accepts no responsibility for any inaccuracies or offence/damage caused to users, due to such information, data, documentation or images.
    2. When a customer searches for a service, results will be listed (by choice of distance, price, or using filters such as qualifications) for customers to view at their discretion. Registered businesses that match a customer"s search criteria will display the following information for the customer to see: business name, service type, profile image and any requested information from the search filter (for example, distance in miles from postcode entered).
    3. When a customer clicks on a business profile, they will be able to see further information. This supports the customer to make an informed decision as to whether they would like to connect with a professional, and includes the following information: business location, business description, website link (if applicable), qualification/training status and experience status. Customers will also be able to access and view images and documentation that a professional has uploaded to their profile gallery (examples of work, certificates, proof of business insurance, etc.).
    4. When a customer selects "view contact information", the email address and phone number/s that the professional has provided for business purposes will be able to be seen by the customer.
  4. User control
    1. Just Starting Out ltd gives service users the choice of providing, editing and removing particular information in order to ensure user satisfaction and peace of mind. We appreciate that our service users value having control over personal data.
    2. Service users can also alter information that relates to their business profile, for example addition of information, amendment of information, or in some circumstances removal of information and/or uploaded documentation/images.
    3. Service users who have downloaded our app and opted for automatic notifications can remove these notifications in their account settings.
    4. Service users may request that we permanently delete their user account should they no longer wish to use our services/advertise on our site. This can be achieved through "account settings", and will also end any service-related messages that we may send.
    5. Service users have the right to access, correct, change and delete certain personal information. If you would like assistance with this, you can email or phone us using the contact information displayed at the bottom of this policy.

    1. In order to keep our site safe and prevent fraud, Just Starting Out ltd automatically receives and records information from a user"s computer/mobile device, such as a user"s IP address. We also automatically receive and store information relating to pages that are visited on our site.

  6. How long will we keep your data?
    1. Just Starting Out ltd will keep your data for as long as your account is active, and/or, for only as long as necessary for the purposes that are set out in this policy. Professionals are able to delete their account at any time.
    2. Should a professional choose to delete their account, a different email address and/or phone number may need to be provided in order to re-register with us.
    3. Just Starting Out ltd may be required to retain your information for longer than above in order to comply or assist with legal obligations, resolve disagreements/disputes and to enforce our agreements/terms and conditions.
  7. Security
    1. The security of your personal information is important to us. Professionals are required to choose a password to protect their user account. We recommend that you keep your password and computer/phone secure, as well as choosing your password carefully.
    2. Whilst we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee 100% security. This is because there is no method of transmission or electronic storage across the internet that is immune to hacking.
  8. Our contact with you
    1. Just Starting Out ltd may contact service users to provide support/assistance in relation to registration related, or transaction related purposes. This contact will be by phone, message or email.
    2. Professionals who register with us are required to keep a valid email address and mobile phone number on file.
    3. Service users may receive service related messages from Just Starting Out ltd. These service emails form an important part of ensuring that our site works effectively and cannot be opted out of. Examples of service related messages include: a welcome email when a professional registers on our site, a notification email when a professional"s price plan (business exposure) is nearing an end, correspondence with our support team, and notifications concerning the registration process/business profile listings.
  9. Information uses and sharing of data
    1. Just Starting Out ltd respects the privacy of all users. We will never disclose your personal information (such as your email address or phone number) to third parties without your permission, other than what is specified within this policy. Where our service users have chosen to "opt-in", we may use data for marketing purposes, promotions, general research and in order to contract interested parties. Data is used to continuously improve our services, to ensure smooth payment processes and for identification and authentication of our service users.
    2. Your personal information is stored safely, and only trained team members have access to this data. Team members who access personal data do so on a basis where we believe that the access to such information is necessary in order for them to perform their job effectively.

For example, if a professional uploads a page to their business profile that includes a plug-in from another site or service (i.e. a Facebook "like").     10. Just Starting Out ltd is not responsible for, or has any control over third party privacy policies, including that of other websites that are advertised on our site.
